MPW values music and the positive social, emotional and educational outcomes which result from its inclusion in the school's teaching and learning programs.

MPW will endeavour to provide opportunities for all students to experience and participate in music.

MPW has a non auditioned choir, students in years 2-6 are invited to join.

The choirs sing the national anthem at each school assembly and have an evening performance, usually in Term 4.

There are various times throughout the year when the choir performs at other venues.

Music Programs

MPW has two programs available (both are user pay).

  • Moonee Vale Instrumental Instrumental Music Program (MVIMP)

Moonee Valley Instrumental Music Program (MVIMP)

MVIMP is an opportunity for children to learn a musical instrument from a professional music tutor during school time. The music tutors who work in MVIMP are highly professional musicians and teachers, who ensure that learning music is a positive experience for the children involved.

MVIMP runs in 4 local schools, who share music tutors, instruments and resources. Children across the schools combine at times for an annual music camp, performances and special events.
