MPW values music and the positive social, emotional and educational outcomes which result from its inclusion in the school's teaching and learning programs.
MPW will endeavour to provide opportunities for all students to experience and participate in music.
Music Programs
MPW has two programs available (both are user pay).
Moonee Valley Instrumental Music Program (MVIMP)
MVIMP is an opportunity for children to learn a musical instrument from a professional music tutor during school time. The music tutors who work in MVIMP are highly professional musicians and teachers, who ensure that learning music is a positive experience for the children involved.
The program is open to all children in Years 2-6. Children learn in small groups (maximum of 5 students, though often less).
There is the opportunity for children to join the school band when they are deemed ready MVIMP runs in 4 local schools, who share music tutors, instruments and resources. Children across the schools combine at times for an annual music camp, performances and special events.

Soundgarage Music Schools
Soundgarage Music Schools at MPW, offer contemporary music classes, during school time.
Children can build their self-confidence and be involved in a variety of performances by joining the Singing and Performance (SAP) Program. They can also learn keyboard and electric guitar. Soundgarage students have the opportunity to participate in the Soundgarage concerts held in Term 4.
